Northern Arts Council Grants

Formed in 1969 to develop and sponsor art and cultural events in Northern Wisconsin, the Northern Arts Council (NAC) is the longest-continuing local arts group in the state.  Grants are currently funded by  NAC's membership program. Grants are reviewed and awarded case-by-case, evaluated on artistic merit, community benefit, and ability to succeed.

Grant Applications for the Performing Arts Project Grants will open June 1, 2026

Now on a Rotating Schedule

The Northern Arts Council (NAC) is excited to share updates to our grant program launching in 2025, including a new every-other-year funding cycle designed to better serve our local arts community in Oneida and Vilas Counties.

Here’s what’s new:
Beginning in 2025, NAC grants will alternate focus by year:

  • 2026: Performing arts projects (music, dance, theater, etc.)
  • 2027: Visual arts projects only
    • This pattern will continue in future years, allowing for deeper support in each discipline.
