Northern National Art Competition Opening Reception September 26th
The Opening Reception of the 32nd Annual Northern National Art Competition will be a remarkable evening in celebration of the 90 artists whose work has been chosen for this year’s gallery exhibition, and the public who will be invited to experience that work. The competition is a collaborative effort between the Northern Arts Council and Nicolet College. The artwork, which comes from all over the United States, embodies a diverse collection of representational, contemporary, and abstract art. Some of the artists will be in attendance to discuss their work, and you may be fortunate enough to meet one of the prize winners! The opening reception will be held on Thursday, September 26, from 5:00pm-7:30pm on the Nicolet College Campus at the Northwoods Center, 5364 College Drive, Rhinelander, WI 54501. Take a leisurely walk through the Nicolet College Gallery to savor this year's exhibition while enjoying a glass of wine and a plate of hors d'oeuvres, all to the sounds of the Woodland Strings quintet. Join Juror Scott Stulen of Tulsa's Philbrook Museum of Art as he offers his comments on the curation of this prestigious national show. Stulen is himself an artist, writer, curator, and also a disc jockey.
Tickets are $20 and may be purchased online through ArtStart’s School of the Arts registration site, online through Nicolet College, at Trig’s Customer Service desk, Diane’s Frame Shoppe or from a Northern Arts Council Board member.
