Northern Arts Council Grants

Formed in 1968 for the purpose of developing and sponsoring art and cultural events in Northern Wisconsin, the Northern Arts Council (NAC) is the longest continuing local arts group in the state.

The NAC has supported a wide variety of worthy programs including dance and choral groups as well as adult authors and children’s programs.

NAC grants range from $100 to $5000. The deadline for completed applications is December 1.

Our primary source of funding for the NAC is from memberships. The NAC awards grants to non-profit groups based on available funds. Although not required, grant applicants are strongly encouraged to become NAC members.

Members are invited to attend NAC monthly meetings, held the second Thursday of each month at four o’clock at the Rhinelander District Library. Membership checks should be sent to NAC, PO Box 916, Rhinelander, WI 54501.

Completed grant applications must be postmarked by December 1. Grant recipients are notified following budget approval at the NAC annual meeting which is held in January.
