Nate Sheppard is a Rhinelander-based multimedia artist with a specialty in music and video. He enjoys “pushing technological boundaries in artistic spaces by melding various forms of media into innovative art installations and performances”.
Since receiving the grant in 2019, Nate has produced multiple projects with equipment purchased from the NAC funding including a pop-up escape room at ArtStart in Rhinelander and an immersive sustainability-themed installation titled The Waythrough for the Project North Festival.
The grant also allowed him to invest in new camera equipment which he used to film a feature-length documentary about a small Haitian community and their unusual approach to poverty alleviation. The documentary is currently in post-production.
